In the dark world of Helea, where myth and reality merge, a clash of powers is brewing. This is a place of contrasts, where three worlds coexist: Limbo, Eslania, and Castalo. Every one of these territories is important in the struggle between supernatural forces that strive for supremacy over the land.
Limbo is the dark realm of vampires. Cloaked in eternal darkness, it serves as their sanctuary and stronghold. Vampires here have evolved from their original forms, which, according to ancient rumors, were once horrific animalic creatures. These primordial vampires, believed to have originated in Edonia—a neighboring land—were transformed into their current human-like shapes, though their powers have somewhat diminished over the centuries. Nevertheless, they remain powerful, and Limbo is not a place to be trifled with by anyone who dares to enter.
On the complete opposite side of the spectrum lies Eslania-the bastion of slayers. This realm is committed to the defense against supernatural threats, especially vampires. The fearless warriors of Eslania use a variety of combat skills in their effort to defend humanity against the growing darkness. These slayers herein are unrelenting, disciplined, and deeply duty-bound to keep at bay the menaces of the vampire. It is their work that retains what little balance there is between the forces of light and darkness within the region.
The third critical area is Castalo, home of the Ousters. This ancient race of beings, recently awakened from their long slumber, finds that their world has been ravaged by the wars between humans and vampires. The Ousters, once protectors of the land, now prepare to take back their territory and bring peace to Castalo. Their resurgence marks a turning point in the struggle for control over Helea.
The conflict reaches a boiling point when Vlad Tepes, Elizabeth Bathory, and Gilles de Rais—three of the twelve master vampires—form a dark alliance. Their goal is nothing less than to seize ultimate power by awakening Lilith, the fabled mother of all vampires, whose tomb lies hidden in the mountainous region of Helea. But their attempt at summoning Lilith was an event of apocalypse: instead of her waking up, they conjure a perpetual cloud which always shrouds Helea in darkness, turning it into a nightmarish Eden for vampires.
In response to such a grim situation, the human world resorts to extreme measures: the region is cordoned off and heavily fortified while militaries from various countries make attempts to destroy the vampire menace. Meanwhile, the master vampires, unable to quell their thirst for power, start an internal, brutal struggle. They break into competing factions, each seeking a share of the tattered remains of Lilith`s soul-fragments, believed to be the key to a great power.
Into this enters the Ousters with a claim for ancestral homeland, appalled and infuriated by what vampires and humankind alike have wrought, to begin a violent crusade to drive all invaders off Castalo. Once complacent, the Ousters join in a strong fight now for the regaining of their homelands, taking up the battle with an encroaching darkness across their world.
As the factions clash, the struggle grows stronger, while the fate of Helea grows stronger. In this epic war, intermingling fates are those of vampires, slayers, and Ousters in order to decide the final fate that each side struggles for a place in a world standing at the verge of annihilation.
